Hi, I'm Pamela
As the author of 7 novels (5 published) and a member of a writing group for 20 years, I know the value of community, discipline and feedback when it comes to going the distance. Writing is a solitary pursuit and connecting with other writers is crucial if we want to flourish. Click here to find out more about me and my writing.

What will we do in each session?
3-4 writing sprints based on prompts drawn from poetry, prose, music, photos and images
A half hour tutorial on an aspect of writing using examples from published works.
A half hour discussion on writing progress, the writing life and the publishing world.
We'll meet on the second Wednesday of every month via zoom, starting promptly at 7.15pm and finishing up at 9.15pm.
You'll be sent the zoom link for the circle meeting the day before we meet and if you can't make it the session will be recorded and sent the following day.
The Writing Circle is open to women writers of all ages, levels, and genres, whether you're writing for publication or for the sheer joy of creating.

Maybe you're thinking...
I can join a free writer's group
Absolutely true! And I encourage all writers to do so.
But if you live in an isolated location that's not always easy.
Plus, each Circle session includes guided writing prompts you may not find in a 'free' group, and instruction on writing craft.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Try a session and see what you think. There's no obligation to attend every month. If you come along to the first one, and it's not for you, no hard feelings!
But, attending each month will add some writing discipline to your schedule and allow you to make potentially long-lasting connections with other writers.
I should focus on my manuscript
Yes, you should! And many, if not all the exercises we do in the sessions will provide food for thought for your wider writing.
Sometimes it's mind-expanding to write on topics you wouldn't normally consider and in styles outside your comfort zone. No learning is wasted, and it can only improve your writing overall.

We all have stories to tell, and working together to bring those stories to life enhances and emboldens our creative lives. I'm so excited to be running these monthly workshops and to be bringing together women from all walks of life to share our writing experiences. And I'm a huge believer in the magic that happens when groups of women come together to create, inspire and support each other.
